同时，杭州作为一个历史文化名城，也是中国历史上的六大古都之一。相比较而言，她没有北京、西安的厚重煞气，仿佛她从来就没有成为这个国家的政治中心，只是残留下来的秦桧夫妇跪像和**亭的记忆诉说着曾经的腥风血雨；她没有南京的娇艳脂粉气，桨声灯影里的秦淮河让南京沉溺在醉生梦死里，缺少了西子湖的清雅脱俗，楚楚动人；她没有开封、洛阳的寂寂无闻，历经千年而仍旧充满生机活力，不断以新的面貌迎接各方宾客；她更没有上海所拥有的势利和高傲，只是静静地处于江南的一隅，散发出淡淡的幽香，却让你流连忘返，久久不愿离去。

说到杭州，首先要讲的当然是闻名遐迩的西子湖啦。西湖是一首诗，一幅天然图画，一个美丽动人的故事，不论是多年居住在这里的人还是匆匆而过的旅人，无不为这天下无双的美景所倾倒。她就幽雅地流淌在杭城的中心城区，一点也不怕受到污染和喧嚣，整个城市仿佛就是为她而设的一般，每个市民都对她爱护有加，对待她就像是自己的亲生子女，生怕她受到一丁点的伤害，而她也懂得知恩图报，西湖周边的绝大部分景点，诸如花港观渔、柳浪闻莺、龙井问茶、虎跑梦泉、苏堤春晓、断桥、平湖秋月、三潭印月（没错，就是一元钱人民币上背面的风景）、曲院风荷等公园全都是免费的，市民可以任意到其中的一个中去散步，去欣赏，试问有哪个城市，能够如此的大度，开放如此多的景色让广大市民免费共享？所以，生活在杭州城的老百姓是幸福的，也是幸运的。

曾记否，年少轻狂的我们，在大二开学的前一天，全寝室集体行动，用我们的双脚丈量着杭州的土地，花了两个多小时，一路步行到西子湖畔，苏子堤旁，分享平湖秋月的美景；曾记否，大二时候的八月十五中秋佳节，带着一帮学弟学妹，来到了苏堤边上，在异乡的土地上，发出天涯共此时的感叹；曾记否，大二的冬季，杭州下雪了，那是出生在广东的我生平第一次看到真正的下雪，我们仿如回到孩童时代，一点也不顾及自己的大学生形象，忘情地在草坪上堆雪人，滚雪球，追逐嬉戏，还抛开正在准备的期末考试不管，特意跑到西湖的断桥边，欣赏断桥残雪的绝美景色；常有的是周末时候，或独个骑车，或约上三五知己，来到苏堤、白堤上绕着西湖走那么一圈，累了就在路旁的草地上或公园里休息一会，如果你愿意，也可以选择到南山路上的星巴克去边品咖啡，边欣赏湖上的美景，实为一赏心乐事，哦，对了，南山路还是一条酒吧街，入夜以后灯火璀璨，热闹非凡，与旁边静静的湖水相互映衬，相得益彰；更不用说，带上自己的异性知己（啊，你们这么聪明，明白我说什么的，呵呵），来到夜幕低垂，星光点点的湖边，促膝谈心，比在学校操场晒月光要强太多了，等我觅了另一半的时候，我一定会带她到西湖来，重新细细品味这难得的经历……

杭州城的住家感觉，不单只体现在西子湖这个地方，连在普通的学校里，也能够感受到这份浪漫与温馨，我们所在的浙江工商大学（前杭州商学院）虽然占地不大，但是，每逢秋天，春华、秋实两条校道上的271棵法国梧桐（我同学数的）的树叶渐次变黄，经过一夜秋风，纷纷洒落的树叶铺满校道，薄薄的一层，你须早起，赶在校工还没有清理满地的落叶之前，踩在这一层黄叶之上，沙沙作响，如若有阵风吹过，树上的叶子纷纷飘下，仿如落雪般，夹杂着桂花的清香，让你有种置身童话之中的感觉。还记得，那是个阳光明媚的早上，我拿着课本迈出宿舍楼，就被眼前铺满黄叶的黄金大道吸引住了，踩在上面软软的，正当我在细细感受这份温暖的感觉的时候，一阵秋风吹起，树上沙沙作响，梧桐树叶漫天飞舞，我被彻底征服了，迫不及待张开双臂，迎着满天的梧桐树叶，跑着，跳着，尽情享受着大自然的恩赐。曾想过，拖着GF的手走在这条漫天梧桐树叶飞舞，桂花飘香的校道上，是多么温馨与甜蜜的一件事……

杭州的一年四季都很漂亮，但不同的季节，有不同的感觉。桃红柳绿的春天，在苏堤上走走，翻过一座座的桥，走过一棵棵茂密的大树，很惬意，很享受。纷繁闷热的夏天，西湖边上一般都会亮灯，把苏堤、白堤映照得很漂亮，吃过晚饭，懒散地来到西湖边，八九点钟的样子，泡杯绿茶，喝着茶，吹着晚风，很舒服。满城飘香的秋天，是杭州最香的时候，正逢季节时，满枝头的桂花，风一吹就会飘散下来，满城飘着桂花香，很甜美。阴冷潮湿的冬天，冬日的西湖有一种憔悴的美，如黛玉般让人怜惜。

杭州城还有许多让人想起就流口水的小吃：吴山酥油饼，葱包烩，猫耳朵，片儿川，油墩儿，定胜糕，虾爆鳝面，杭州小笼……其中酥油饼，葱包，定胜糕都是可以在吴山河坊街吃到，面食嘛可以去吃杭州的奎元馆，人气很旺的。猫耳朵什么的可以去杭州的知味观，杭州小笼可以考虑新丰小吃。如果你有足够的经济能力的话，可以到以经营浙江、杭州风味菜为特色的楼外楼，品尝宋嫂鱼羹、西湖醋鱼、蜜汁火方、龙井虾仁等经典杭州菜色。
